, 26-year-old tamerlan tsarnaev. dzhokar appears to be in the boat in the back of that house. now that boat is on fire. there is tremendous amount of police presence. that convergent intensified in just the last hour in the wake of a police press conference lifting the request for people to stay inside and just a little bit after that, a rush of police into the area and an explosion of gunfire. joining us on the phone is rebecca kraeger. he backyard looks into the yard where everything is happening. rebecca with, can you tell me what you're seeing? >> right now i'm seeing a lot of flashing lights from police cars. i'm hearing a lot of helicopters overhead, i think. right now, there's a house blocking where the house with the boat is. but i can see a lot of police officers roaming around. and it's scary. there's a lot going on. maybe a hundred yard from me. >> rebecca, i imagine you were sheltered all day. were you close enough to hear the fire fight that happened in watertown? >> yeah. i'm probably half a mile from away from there. i was up and the stuff with the mit shooting was
muslims more than it does. that's going to take it up discussion. we learned today tamerlan was kicked off a mosque because being too radical. what peter king will do with that information, based on experience, say that's proof we need to more closely monitor people in this country. i'm not sure you need to go that far. this is somebody who was in a citizenship cue and had that process delayed because of going back and forth to russia. it might have been a specific case we missed and not something to look at as it expands ever more the investigation of muslims in general. something the system should have captured but we will discuss broad solutions, broad ideas not just republicans but national security hawks wanted whatever the situation is. >> we'll leave it there. go ahead, lynn. jump in. >> a quick point. this comes as the immigration bill is being kbeebt edebated i senate. >> we'll talk about that later in the broadcast. thanks to you all. appreciate your time. >>> the fbi again, interviews, in e did not find any terrorist links to him. how did that happen? i'll ask a senior member of
's -- and the brother, tamerlan tsarnaev had the ploes sifs strapped to him. no indication that dzhokhar did. and he obviously tried to make an escape. so what does that tell you about his own state of mind and you know the idea some of these guys want to be a martyr to a case an if there is a cause and we don't know. some of them want to live. >> it tells me there's just what you said. there's a lot of people saying i'm willing to die but they don't necessariry want to die. this guy could have died. he could have leaned out of the boat and cranked out a couple more rounds and they would have put him down. but he chose not to. tactically they did everything they could to get him out of there alive. he could have committed that suicide. as long as we see the vid act of wanting to sur vief we have something to play with. we can dance with the devil to get information to save lives as long as we know this guy will not see the light of day outside of a prison again. >> where do you suppose they will take this line of questioning, clint? well, is that to me, chris? yeah. >> yeah. the things we're trying
. the two brothers, the one who was killed last night tamerlan tsarnaev. the man police are looking for at this hour is dzhokhar tsarnaev, identified by the fbi as wearing the white hat, as you can see in the photograph there. those were the photographs from the scene on monday at the boston marathon that were made public by the fbi last night. dzhokhar the man at large has a massachusetts driver's license and was born in kyrgyzstan. they came to the u.s. with their family in 2002, 2003. may have been here well over a decade in the united states. >> and has left a trail of devastation in their wake. pete williams also saying that this chase last night, which culminated and still continues now, but culminated in a huge shootout with the sounds of gunfire and explosives ringing through the streets of watertown in the dark of night. these guys were the ones who started this by potentially a realizing their faces were out there and if they wanted to make another mark or make a break for it, they had to do it right away. it involved them robbing a 7-eleven, carjacking someone, letting th
, but the older brother, dead, tamerlan tsarnaev, has been living in america since 2007. tell me your thoughts on what happened here. he's living in america since '07 and at some point, turns and decides he wants to kill americans. what would be your take in terms of the psychology and what these two are thinking or were thinking? >> well, we don't know, but we're about to find out. some say there might be a hybrid here, like major nidal hasan was radicalized via the internet, yet there was another soldier at ft. hood, an enlisted man, who built two explosive devices just like the ones we see used in boston because he had access to the same internet magazines that these guys did, but at ft. hood, he used it to kill soldiers for his own personal reasons, not necessarily anything that had to do with religion or politics. in this particular case, because perhaps the older brother was radicalized, had influence on the younger brother, who's the fugitive right now, we may find this is something like a timothy mcveigh. in essence, the target was not so specific, but the target was located because he
